Chablis 2018 White - Vincent Dauvissat

A luminous and subtle Chablis, a pure and intense reflection of the Chablis terroirs with its iodized accents, its lemony freshness, the sweetness of a honeyed nuance and its notes of crisp white fruits.

Although the early budburst caused some scares in the vines at the beginning of April, the few cold nights this time did not damage the young buds at all. Subsequently, flowering went very well, under mild weather, heralding a generous fruit production. Despite a historically hot and very dry summer, the vines did not suffer from water stress: berry development was not slowed, and ripeness progressed steadily. The harvest began on September 3: yields were there, and the health of the grapes was absolutely impeccable.

Bottled in early 2020, this Chablis then spent nearly two more years maturing in the Domaine's cool cellars, in the heart of the village of Chablis.

On the palate, we find a full, sap-filled body, typical of the vintage, coupled with an omnipresent sensation of lemony and iodine freshness. We love the serene balance between a concentrated fruity core, coated with a touch of caramel cream, and this saline energy, this tension with accents of orange zest that constantly carries the wine forward. Full, dynamic and incredibly persistent on the finish, this Chablis will cross time with panache.
