Vinification of grapes from old vines (90 years) of Mourvèdre. Régis Pichon offers us a wine of character, length, black fruits and spices. A very pretty bottle to savor!
DOMAIN
Domain Ribiera: 7 ha of vines in the heart of Languedoc in Aspiran managed by Christine and Régis Pichon.
“Wise in our follies, rich in our pleasures, let us trample the earth and its vain grandeurs underfoot. And in the sweet intoxication that such beautiful moments cause to flow into our souls.” We see the vine as a revealing link capable of expressing the identity and purity of its soil and environment.
The vines aged 20 to 50 years are located at an altitude of 110 meters and planted on marl (clay-sandy limestone soil) and rolled pebbles. Our plots are called Combe Caude, Lussides, Lous Aspes, Le Causse, Mas de Noyer, Boussac. We have chosen to cultivate traditional grape varieties. Cinsault for its tasty texture and delicate aromas, Grenache Noir for its sunny and fleshy side and Terret for its freshness and minerality. (Terret white and gray introduced into Languedoc around 1860)
Management of the vineyard in agroecology (organic agriculture certified by ecocert but also care and search for harmony with the environment). Plowed soils with compost: marc and Larzac manure. Treatments: wind, powdered sulfur, silica, aloe vera, low dose Bordeaux mixture, nettle or comfrey manure, etc.
