Monique and Tessa Laroche acquired this magnificent estate in 1981, in the Savennières appellation. Located at the top of a hill on the right bank of the Loire, the vineyard benefits from ideal sunshine, and the proximity of the river and the ocean, which regulate temperatures. The Chenin vines, with an average age of 38 years, cover 10 hectares today, and three plots have recently been replanted, to look forward to the future with confidence. Converted to organic farming since 2009, the 12 hectares of the estate are also cultivated biodynamically. With little worked soils and preserved biodiversity, the cultivation practices are intended to have the least possible impact on living things. Very early on, the winegrowers chose a clean culture free from synthetic pesticides.
At the gates of the Angers capital, Tessa cultivates her feminine sensibility at Domaine aux Moines, producing white wines unlike any other and delighting the world's finest gourmet restaurants. The Laroche family crafts elegant wines whose reputation is well established. Monique has dedicated herself entirely for over 30 years to ensuring that the estate's Roche aux Moines becomes a wine that expresses both Chenin and terroir.
