DOMAIN

Founded in 1963, the founding and establishment of Domaine Taupenot-Merme began after the marriage of Denise Merme and Jean Taupenot. The cellar remains located in the middle of the Côte de Beaune district in the commune or village of Morey-Saint-Denis. Since its inception, the Burgundy wine estate has produced wines of the highest quality and quality.

Little by little, Denise and Jean's children, Virginie and Romain Taupenot, joined their parents in the cellar. At that time, Domaine Taupenot-Merme operated through two different and distinct estates. They worked and operated simultaneously from St Romain and Morey St Denis. It was in 1998 that they merged. The same year, Romain took over the cellar. This made him the seventh generation of the Taupenot wine family to continue their business and legacy as winemakers.

Today, Domaine Taupenot-Merme owns approximately 13 hectares of land. They remain divided and spread across 20 various appellations in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune regions. In addition to this, the winery owns several premier and key grands crus. They consist of Charmes-Chambertin, La Riotte and Mazoyères-Chambertin. It allows Domaine Taupenot-Merme to acquire and maintain a beneficial and desirable balance between village wines and raw wines.
