This vintage displays a nice consistency in quality, as confirmed by the success of this vintage which can be seen from the attractive dark ruby red color. What follows does not disappoint: complex and fine, the bouquet delivers notes of fresh leather and vanilla, while the palate is based on an ample and rich structure, imbued with tasty fruitiness. A bottle designed for keeping.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired this vintage in 1933. Neighboring the famous Château Mouton Rothschild, it had belonged since the 17th century to the Armailhacq family, whose name it then bore: Château Mouton d'Armailhacq. From 1956, it was successively called Château Mouton Baron Philippe, then, in 1975, Château Mouton Baronne Philippe. Since 1989, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild has partly restored its original identity by naming it Château d'Armailhac.
