Barolo Villero comes from the large Villero farm, divided into small plots, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto. Vatting for 20 and 25 days in concrete vats is followed by aging for approximately 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Bottling takes place 4 years after harvest.
Wine producers for more than 150 years, first as sharecroppers, the Mascarello family bought their first vines in Monprivato, one of the exceptional terroirs of Barolo, in 1904. Today, it is Mauro Mascarello , helped by his wife and his son Guiseppe, who took charge of these 15 hectares, divided into several plots. The estate practices viticulture that is extremely respectful of its terroirs since it prohibits chemical weedkillers and drastically limits phytosanitary treatments. Wines which have repeatedly demonstrated their finesse as well as their great aging capacity, with the 6 hectares of the famous "Monprivato" (virtually a monopoly of the house) as their standard bearer. Mascarello has a reputation as one of the largest producers ofBarolo and more generally to be one of the best estates in the world.
