Medium intensity ruby red. On the nose, it expresses pleasant aromas of redcurrants, raspberries and wild berries, followed by floral touches, delicate spices and a hint of mineral. On the palate it is full and fresh, very drinkable, juicy and elegant in its tannic texture. It lingers for a long time with a balsamic finish.
DOMAIN
Giulia Negri comes from a family that has been producing wine for 150 years in Barolo, a six-hectare vineyard in Serradenari (meaning “silver hill”) which she proudly inherits. It was after a visit to Burgundy that she returned to her native lands with the aim of producing fine and delicate, fruity and elegant wines. If she grows chardonnay and pinot noir which allow her to apply her knowledge, the young woman also works with local grape varieties such as nebbiolo and barbera (when the vintage permits).
The care given to the vines – planted on hillsides and a little further down in the valley – is extreme, the organic estate has in fact been certified by the Italian label Valoritalia since 2019. If her ancestors vinified in 228 liter Burgundian rooms, the winegrower She preferred 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels. If Burgundy inspires Barolo in the story of Giulia Negri, Barolo quickly takes off to produce unique wines here. The range is beautiful, and the wines can sometimes be drunk quickly, sometimes waited silently in the cellar, for more pleasure in tasting.
