The 2020 vintage of Château Anthonic reveals a full and concentrated palate which confirms the expression of perfectly accomplished maturity and reveals a structure that is both powerful and suave. This sensation of volume and body ends with tannins of rare length which leave an impression of velvety and grace on the finish.
DOMAIN
Jean-Baptiste Cordonnier took over the reins of the property from his father in 1993, one of the oldest properties in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation . In the 1980s, the latter was already practicing without knowing it agriculture close to organic. Little by little, tillage faded away to give way to chemical treatments. When Jean-Baptiste arrived, the loss of biodiversity was already obvious. Always passionate about nature and all the living forms it shelters, he abandons team practices in favor of natural methods , such as the gradual abandonment of insecticides, installation of natural grass cover, modulation of product doses, etc. Its objective is to find a real balance of their environment and full health of the vines. Certified organic since 2019 , the property invests a little more every day in this logic, deeply convinced of the benefits of agroecology and agroforestry.
The vineyard, which covers around thirty hectares, has been certified Organic Agriculture since 2019. The Château Anthonic teams favor natural methods to preserve the ecosystem .
With a view to preserving the environment, they have started an agroforestry process . This method involves planting trees in the vineyards. They then take on the role of ecological inn for wildlife , regulator of the climate and nourisher for the soil. So many methods that allow nature to develop in healthy conditions and allow very good quality fruit in the vines.
