This high-end vintage comes from the prestigious “Les Anglaises” vineyard of Domaine de la Biscarelle. The vineyard is made up of vines that are mainly 80 to 105 years old. Les Anglaises is located on beautiful hillsides at the northern end of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation in an area called Cabrières. The soil is a complex mixture of rolled cakes, clay and red sand. The result is a very nice combination of intense red fruits and notes of spices.
DOMAIN
The Biscarelle estate is located in the Grès district of ORANGE, halfway between the city of Princes and the famous village of Châteauneuf du Pape.
It extends over 22 hectares of vines and 2 different appellations:
Côtes du Rhône: 17 hectares of vines which are between 40 and 80 years old.
And of course Châteauneuf du Pape: 5 hectares (with some century-old plots) located in the north of the appellation, vines mainly on hillsides, where the vines are shod with their famous round pebbles that the mistral does not forget to sweep away all the way. 'year.
