The powerful Mount Edelstone Shiraz Eden Valley from Australia is a single-varietal wine, vinified from the Shiraz grape variety. In South Australia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils. After the harvest, the grapes are transported as quickly as possible to the press. They are sorted there and delicately broken. Then fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation.
It arrives in the glass with a dense purple color. Slightly tilted, we can see at the edges a transition in color towards garnet red. If given a little air by swirling, this red wine reveals great density and richness, which results in church windows on the edge of the glass. On the nose, this red wine from Henschke presents all kinds of blueberries, blackberries, plums, black cherries and morello cherries.

This red from Henschke is a good choice for all wine lovers who like it dry. But it is never austere or brittle, it is round and supple. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and fleshy texture. The finale of this matured red wine from the wine-growing region of South Australia ultimately delights with beautiful persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from soils dominated by limestone.

The Henschke family has been making wines at their Eden Valley estate since 1868. Fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke took over management of the winery in 1979. Along with his winemaker wife, Prue, they transformed their two vineyards single-plot wines, Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone, into two of Australia's most sought-after wines. Through a combination of excellent viticultural practices from Prue, who is at the forefront of re-introducing native plants into their vineyards to improve biodiversity, and enological techniques from Stephen, they have cemented their heritage and transformed this traditional producer into a a reference recognized by wine connoisseurs around the world.
