Deep, intense, almost black color. The nose quickly appears of great complexity displaying smoky notes, blackcurrant, chocolate and nutmeg. Very delicious, the attack is ample, fatty and demonstrative. The wine is well constructed, very harmonious, structured by tannins of great finesse. A complex fruit accompanies the palate, which concludes with notes of milk caramel and freshly roasted cocoa. 2014 brilliantly inaugurates our brand new winery and its revolutionary facilities. Thanks to the in-depth work carried out in the vineyard since 2009 and to this formidable tool, 2014 is the new reference vintage for Château Pédesclaux. Tasted at the property in April 2015.
DOMAIN
Like the best of the appellation, Château Pédesclaux reflects its terroir: complex. In this mosaic of soils, the clays favor power and the bass the expression of elegance. Pédesclaux embodies the density of Pauillac, tempered by a singular voluptuousness. Over the years, the in-depth work carried out on the plots of excellence bears fruit, while the revolutionary winemaking tools develop a personality in their own right. Over the years, the common thread of a terroir aromatic, made of blackcurrant, violet and cigar box, has become established. Sometimes denser and sunny, sometimes more airy, always balanced between contrasting power of aromas and silky delicacy of tannins, Château Pédesclaux also has tremendous aging potential, another mark of the great Pauillac terroirs.
