This plot is located on a land rich in sand. On the nose we find notes of cherry, violet, strawberry as well as notes of dried leaves. The palate is very balanced thanks in particular to a beautiful acidity and we find notes of dried rose and small ripe wild red fruits associated with fine touches of sense of place and a very fine hint of pepper. Good length.
DOMAIN
Pinot noir, undisputed lord of Burgundy, was planted in the Langhe in 1800 by the French oenologist Oudart, called by the Count of Cavour, but at the altitude of these hills, given the warmer climate, it does not did not give the expected results. Many years later, Giulia Negri decided to try again with this fragile variety, planting it in a cool, north-facing vineyard at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. The challenge began with the 2011 harvest and with this DOC Langhe “La Tartufaia” 2018, we can safely say that the young winemaker has won. A red wine produced with a long maceration on the skins, aged in barrels used for 18 months, which conquers for its great elegance and superb keepability.
