DOMAIN
At the origin of this wine project, there is Tiago Sampaio and his winegrower grandfather with whom, from a very young age, he explored the magnificent vineyards of the Douro Valley. Passionate about nature and very curious, Tiago studied agronomy in Santo Tirso then at the University of Vila Real. Then, he decided to specialize in wine and went to Oregon (USA) to complete a doctorate in viticulture/oenology.
Drawing on his university experiences and keen to combine modernity and tradition, Tiago is moving towards the production of healthy wines.
Going against the grain of what is happening in the region, Folias de Baco offers a large number of vintages with very different profiles. From the Pinot Noir Pet'nat' to the highly digestible Moscatel Galego white, including the Clairet of planted grapes or orange wines aged in amphorae.
