DOMAIN
Quinta do Montalto, owned by the same family for 5 generations, extends over approximately 50 hectares, including vineyards, olive groves, orchards and forests, forming a magnificent mosaic in the landscape.
Integrated into the greater Lisbon wine region, the approximately 15.5 hectares of vines planted on slopes of clay-limestone soil with excellent sun exposure produce wines with the Encostas D'Aire designation of origin.
Located in the center of the country, in the Ourém region, near Fátima, and with a long winemaking tradition, Quinta do Montalto cultivates a wide variety of grape varieties, Aragonez and Fernão Pires being the most representative of red grapes and white, respectively. There are also plantations of Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Syrah, Baga, Alicante Bouschet, Castelão, Moreto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Arinto, Rabo de Ovelha and Olho de Lebre.
Not neglecting environmental concerns, all crops at Quinta do Montalto have, since 1997, been carried out and processed according to organic farming standards under the control of ECOCERT-PORTUGAL, that is to say that no no chemical fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide, fungicide or other synthetic chemical product is used.
Using no animal products, all their wines are suitable for a vegetarian diet and are registered with The Vegan Society, a UK-based association.
