The color of this Riesling is intense gold. The nose is quite powerful on dried citrus fruits and curry. The mouth is spherical with concentrated tactile material. The aroma is very marked by apple and the finish is very lemony! A Riesling like no other.
Patrick Meyer took over the family estate in 1982 and quickly turned to organic farming, banning the use of synthetic treatments in 1993 and reducing sulfur to the strict minimum. Its wines received the biodynamic label in 1999. Various terroirs extend into the village of Nothalten at the foot of the Vosges. In Heinsenberg, Heisenstein, Zelberg and Grittermatte, the soils are a mixture of gneiss, clay, shale and sand. In addition, due to the location of the vineyard located at around 250 meters above sea level and the very low rainfall leading to slower maturation of the grapes, he decided to vinify the plots separately before any blending into a cuvée. 7 grape varieties on 7 hectares of vines. Patrick focuses on the minerality of his wines and the identity of the terroirs, working without added sulphites.
