Region: Loire
Grape variety: Grenache
Vintage: 2022
White colour
Quantity: 75cl
This Grenache from the Côte Roannaise is a bit reminiscent of Viognier, the nose is aromatic with stone fruits, a nice volume but with a certain freshness on the finish.
Very pretty with fish in sauce or chicken with cream!
For the record, this is the wine that Pope Francis drank during his visit to Marseille last September!
DOMAIN
Régis and Aude-Reine Anouil are part of what we call “neo-wine growers”. After a first life in the Paris region, they settled in the summer of 2019 in Ambierle, in the Côte Roannaise appellation, in the department of La Loire.
Taking over a very small certified organic estate, they chose a radical path in terms of agronomy: agroforestry (planting many trees in the heart of their plots) and phytotherapy (plant extracts and manures to care for the vines, minimum of copper and sulfur in the vines). The objective is to strengthen life in the soil. In the cellar, the logical continuation of their agronomic choices is to vinify without inputs. Nothing but grapes, pure juice! Minimal interventions to let nature express itself. The wines of Domaine de La Bénisson-Dieu are affiliated with the Natural Method Wine Syndicate.
