Giuseppe Mascarello et Figlio is a small family winery having been founded in 1881. It has the reputation of being one of the largest producers of Barolo and more generally of being one of the best producers in the world. Vinification takes place in cement vats coated with epoxy resin and in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in Slavonian oak tuns, so that the grapes and their terroir can fully express themselves.
The vineyard from which the Giuseppe Mascarello Dolcetto d'Alba Vigna Bricco Mirasole grapes comes was planted in 1988. It is harvested in mid-September, when the grapes have reached their full ripening potential.
Giuseppe Mascarello Dolcetto d'Alba Vigna Bricco Mirasole is made using traditional methods. We start by destemming and crushing the grapes, then we ferment them with the skins at a controlled temperature. The wine does not stay in barrels. However, it is bottled one year after harvest. The production of this wine is limited to 6,000 bottles.
