The aromatic Maidenii Dry White is a blend of several vintages of Viognier, Sémillon and Riesling from central Victoria. The Viognier and Sémillon were aged in Maidenii Dry Vermouth barrels for a year, then refreshed with a touch of a new vintage of Riesling. An extra-dry response to an aperitif wine, made without additions and with a minimum of sulphites.
Maidenni is a collaboration between French winemaker Gilles Lapalus and Australian bartender Shaun Byrne. For the creation of Maidenii they brought together flowers, fruits, herbs, cereals, spices and roots from the new and old world! The living components are freshly picked from the Victoria colony. Maidenii is named after the British botanist Joseph Maiden (1859-1925), the original champion of eucalyptus and acacia. Maiden first landed in the colony of New South Wales in 1880, he could not have predicted the wonders that awaited him. At a time when his peers saw only a barren and hostile land, Maiden was amazed by the botanical wealth he discovered and then devoted the rest of his life to studying and cataloging the native flora. His passion for Australia's botanical riches inspires the spirit of Maidenii.
