After two powerful and sunny vintages, 2011 is distinguished by beautiful maturity of the fruits, fine and fleshy tannins, and good freshness which ensures a classic balance.
The blend of Château Lynch-Bages 2011 is as follows: 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. The great wine represents 66% of the total production of the vineyard. Aging was done in wooden barrels for 15 months (65% new wood).
THE Château Lynch Bages 2011 in tasting medium-bodied has a saturated ruby color as well as beautiful notes of crème de cassis, a generous, concentrated, well-made style, medium-bodied and soft tannins. A successful effort in 2011, it should be drinkable in 3-4 years and last 15+ years. This is a sleeper of the vintage.
Located at the gates of Pauillac, on one of the most beautiful ridges of the commune, overlooking the Gironde estuary, Château Lynch-Bages owes part of its name to the very old hamlet of Bages and the Lynch family (d 'Irish ancestry), who has overseen the destiny of the estate since the 18th century. Bought in 1934 by the Cazes family and already very renowned, Lynch Bages took a new step with the arrival of Jean-Michel Cazes at the helm in 1974. He then put all his energy, his talent and his charisma at the service of this field whose quality and notoriety he further raises. But even beyond his wine, it is Bordeaux and the French vineyard that he will become a tireless ambassador, traveling the whole world to meet an ever-widening circle of passionate wine lovers. Today, his son Jean-Charles takes over, to whom he handed over the reins of the estate in 2006.
