The Belle Dame vintage is undoubtedly the greatest red Sancerre and this 2014 gives us striking proof. Rich, it has a smooth structure and a most refined mouthfeel.
"Belle Dame has great aromatic finesse, with notes of faded rose and sandalwood: the palate is in unison, sharp and slender, served by high-class breeding..."
Created from a single hectare of vines at the beginning of the 20th century, Domaine Vacheron is located in Sancerre. Entirely cultivated organically and biodynamically (certified by Ecocert), there are now 48 hectares of vines grouped together on the geological fault, which cut the property into two very distinct terroirs, limestone and flint, and which give the AOC Sancerre wines produced minerality and the freshness that made its reputation.
The estate follows a Burgundian inspiration, working their terroirs in plots, in the style of Burgundian climates. Biodynamic work and care in the vat room allow us to produce delicate, refined wines that will keep for a long time. Extremely rigorous and very precise, the estate's wines are a benchmark. Plot selections are their great strength, exploiting all the nuances of these limestone and flint terroirs.
The localities, on the large Limestone and Silex terroirs, are vinified separately, for the Sauvignon Blanc as well as for the Pinot Noir, and are available in the vintages under the following labels: Paradis (Limestone) Chambrates (Limestone) Guigne-Chèvres (Limestone) ) Les Romans (Silex) Belle Dame (Silex and Pinot Noir)
