Mortlach 12 years old is a vibrant and bold single malt. Aged in Bourbon and Sherry barrels, unpeated, it is distinguished by its incredible intensity, but also by its airy, light and lively character. Sandalwood and caramel on the nose. The palate is sweet and spicy with notes of cherry jam and bitter plum on the finish!
DISTILLERY

Mortlach is a distillery located in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland. It was created in 1823, the year when the first distilling authorizations were granted ("Consumption Tax Law"). This was the first distillery built in Dufftown where there are now around ten. The distillery was purchased by Johnnie Walker in 1923. It is now owned by the Diageo group. Throughout the Second World War, Mortlach was one of the few distilleries in Scotland able to produce whiskey in limited quantities. Instead of a classic double distillation, the liquid is distilled 2.81 times. It is cut, recut, mixed, distilled more than any other Scotch. This distillation allows the essence of the raw material to be extracted and brings a certain elegance, delicacy and subtlety to this Single Malt. In a region known for its fruitier and rounder style whiskeys, Mortlach, nicknamed "The Beast of Dufftown", stands out from other Speyside single malts thanks to its intense and bold flavors, without the peat.
