The radiance of youth colors them with a lively ruby which with age takes on a dark carmine, black cherry hue. Strawberry, blackberry, violet, mignonette and rose are among the spontaneous aromas of the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation, while maturity gives them a bouquet of liquorice, leather and fur, with accents of game and undergrowth. On the palate, a great Burgundy is expressed. Whole and powerful, rich, full-bodied, a body and a spirit, the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation asserts itself on a firm structure, tannins which play on velvet, expressing themselves on a very fine grain, without hardness. Pleasant young and to drink on its fruit, it is however and above all a wine to keep, often long-lasting, excellent for learning vintages.
