The intense, frank and brilliant color arouses interest. The rest of the tasting confirms this good impression: the emerging bouquet is already complex: very ripe black fruit and spices, with a subtle woodiness in support. As for the palate, it is powerful, fresh and robust, while remaining very fruity. Still a little firm, the tannins will ensure good development for this wine. We find the ripe fruit and the barrel delicately in an elegant and persistent finish. Balance and presence.

Since the Middle Ages, Château d'Issan has been located in the prestigious Margaux appellation . By sharing the gravelly terroir rich in stones of Château Margaux, the vineyard benefits from an ideal location for producing great wine. Since 1945, the Cruse family has operated this 53-hectare estate. Emmanuel Cruse , the manager, brings his passion for wine into his work. In the perpetual search for quality, the owner does not forget the motto of his castle "For the tables of Kings and the altar of the Gods ". The Cabernet Sauvignons (65%) and Merlots are cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
Château d'Issan has a history of families which results in different successions and legacies. The reputation of its wine dates back to 1152, because it was served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine.
