DOMAIN
João Pato, aka Duckman, is a character created in homage to a long-lost relative. In reality, the person behind the mask is Luis Pato's second daughter, Mariana. Crafting wines in the shadow of her father, Luis Pato, and older sister Filipa Pato, Mariana sought to create her own distinct identity for Bairrada wines. She chose to do this by shattering every stereotype imaginable and creating labels as artistically personal as the wines they contain. However, the wines inside are very real. You get finely crafted and completely natural interpretations of Bairrada wines. Bairrada is a coastal region located about two hours north of Lisbon. The region is marked by limestone and sandy soils, the omnipresent red Baga grape, as well as the white grapes Maria Gomes (Fernão Pires), Bical and Cerceal.
