AOC: Jurançon
THE WINES OF JURANÇON…
Enthroned on the sunny hillsides of Béarn which stretch out in a green setting, surrounded by lush forests with touches of exoticism, the terraces of the Château de Pau and the majestic Pyrenees range, the Jurançon vineyard is a pleasure for the eyes before that of the palace. Planted at an altitude of 300m facing the spectacular Pyrenees range, the 1300ha of vineyards extend over around forty kilometers. Mountain rigor, oceanic mildness and southern heat are the main components of the Jurançonnais climate, and are found both in the farming practices and the typicality of the wines. Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, Courbu, Camaralet and Lauzet are the indigenous grape varieties used in Jurançonnais.
