Producer: Jean-François Ganevat
Region: Jura
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
Harvest: 2017

Following the frost of April 2017 which affected a large part of the Jura vineyards, Jean-François Ganevat brought together the usual Chardonnay vintages in a single vintage. Aged for 3 years in demi-muids. A powerful, racy, generous wine, which displays a clean and chiselled minerality. The aromatic complexity is always there, mixing exuberance and notes typical of chardonnay. A great Chardonnay, to cellar for a few years!
DOMAIN
Jean-François Ganevat embodies the 14th generation of winegrowers from this family from Rotalier, south of the Jura. The man was cellar master at Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet before taking over the family business in 1998. The estate converted to Organic Culture the same year then to Biodynamic Culture in 2006. He practices plot selections: one soil, one grape variety = one vintage. The result is that the estate produces 45 vintages per year, but don't panic, everything is good, no... extraordinary. He is the reference for a whole generation of young winegrowers. This estate constitutes one of the major revelations of recent years among Jura wines and its rare production is very popular with enthusiasts.
