The garnet color of this wine brings us expressive aromas of black cherry and wild berries. Deep and intense wine, the palate is balanced with fine tannins and a long juicy finish. Interesting to discover the red grape varieties of Greece!
After decades of abandonment, producers like the Lyrarakis estate are searching for the forgotten treasures of the Cretan vineyard. Liatiko Aggelis is a phylloxera-unaffected vineyard on the eastern tip of Crete, planted in the 1930s. In fact, it is not only rare but was in danger of extinction. This particular liatiko Aggelis has unprecedented levels of concentration and tannins in the mouth. But in addition, behind the rescue of this vineyard, the Lyrarakis family respects the unique wealth that they have in their hands, pursuing quiet winemaking in a very light way. The result is one of the most 'terroir', special and interesting wines not only in Crete, but in all of Greece.
