Producer: Clos de l’Elu
Region: Loire - France
Grape Variety: Pinot d'Aunis
Pineau d'Aunis is a special grape from Loire and it's also called Chenin Noir, characterized by aromas of strawberries and raspberries sprinkled with white pepper.
Clos de l'Elu in 2008 was acquired by Charlotte and Thomas Carsin in 2008. They manage the district of Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné, whose plots are located in the most beautiful soils of the Layon valley. Area known by its climate dry and hot and for the production of concentrated grapes.
In its 20 hectares are planted different varieties of grape such as Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Grolleau and Pineau d'Aunis and divided into 6 islets (groups of plots) around the village. Each plot receives a "tailor-made" treatment: cultivation, natural grass (spontaneous flora), more or less severe clearing and pruning.
